MSU Vice President Welfare & Equality

Hiya,

My name is Niamh, and I am your Vice President Welfare & Equality in Maynooth Students’ Union for this academic year. I am an International Business graduate, and my defining personality trait is that I am from Donegal. I’m passionate about student well-being and mental health, as well as being committed to fostering diversity, equity, and inclusion on campus, ultimately enhancing the overall student experience.

As VP Welfare & Equality, I am responsible for providing guidance and support to any students in welfare-related matters, promoting equality, and advocating for social issues of significance. If you are struggling financially, being discriminated against, feeling a bit down, having issues regarding accommodation, or just want a chat – I’m here to listen and help. College can be by far the best years of your life, but they can also be stressful and draining, so no matter how big or small the issue is, my door is always open. Your physical, mental, and sexual health and wellbeing should always come first.

One of our main goals is to ensure that your time at university is not only academically enriching but also filled with an array of opportunities for personal growth and exploration. We strive to create an inclusive and vibrant campus environment that embraces diversity, fosters creativity, and nurtures a sense of belonging. We are your union so if you ever have any ideas or initiatives that the union can support or collaborate with, we are always eager to hear your opinions.

But overall, be kind, get involved and enjoy your college experience because it does go by in the blink of an eye.

Slay, Serve, Survive.
